The funeral of Queen Elizabeth II was magnificent and elegant. Filled with pomp and majesty, it was a fitting requiem for a queen who was beloved by her people. The most powerful moment came when the crown of England, along with the royal sceptre and orb, were removed from her coffin. They were not given to her son, the new king, but instead placed upon the altar in the Church. There they will remain until God bestows them upon the new monarch at his coronation.
